Pissed Jeans: Hope for Men (Sub Pop)

by Jason on June 11th, 2007

hope for men

Matt Korvette’s deranged inner child yells about an ice cream fantasy world and makes No Trend-inspired sarcastic observations about the middle class over sloppy feedback-infused AmRep-repping riffs. This is the follow-up to Shallow (Parts Unknown 2005), and the first full-length for Sub Pop, who already sold out of the “Don’t Need Smoke to Make Myself Disappear” single twice. It’s a good label for this 4-piece from Allentown, PA, who still sound like a sludgy Sub Pop band from the late 80s/early 90s. RIYL Tad, Mudhoney, Flipper, Clockcleaner
